A little bit about Russian and Canadian Violence.

Russian and Canadian Violence.

Canadian:7.1 million registered firearms in Canada172 gun related homicides in Canada in 2004112 committed with handguns71 gang-related homicides in Canada in 200470.4 percent of gang-related homicides committed with a gun20.7 percent of non-gang related homicides committed with a gunThe highest concentration of gun violence is amongst gangs. 50 out of the 70 gang murders last year used guns, and 32 of those murders were carried out with hand guns. The facts are that Canada doesn’t have a gun violence problem. Here in Canada, we experience about 5 deaths per million.

Russian:In January 2008 where were 1037 robberies with usage of guns. (-35,1%). Moscow had 36 cases. Biggest number was in Novosibirsk (58).In 2007 22,200 people were killed, comparing to 2001 with 33,600.

Here is some data about this two countries, and what can be noticed. I guess, that Canada is much more safe and wereare not many murders comparing to Russia, where we have huge amount of murders per year. If you compare Russia to USA, you will see, that Russia will have almost 4 times more murders then USA does. And who was thinking, that USA is a "gang" country? There are also many different aspects of violence, not just murders, but teen violence, family violence, violence against women... and so on. This are just some materials on my topic, which, as I realized is very wide and I hope I can handle it.
